ES-COP-A!!! You know, that's funny... it's spelled just like the word, "escape"...
My collab with *CrAzYmOnKeY. This man is a FANTASTIC Terragen artist, go to his page and give him some serious devlove. Watch him. Fav his whole gallery. Paint him gold and wrap him in cellophane... alright, rain check on that one.
Anyways, this all started about two weeks ago, I would guess. I recieved a casual note from *CrAzYmOnKeY thanking me for stopping by his page, and asking nonchalantly if I ever wanted to collab. Since this is the first time anyone has asked me to collaborate, naturally I was bouncing off the walls with excitement. Over the next two weeks I added and subtracted to the brilliant Terragen render he sent me, multiplied, linear-dodged, and came up with this. I guess Believe kinda ruined the spacescape for this one...
It fell together at the last 10 minutes of work. I was just goofing with it, trying different layer settings, and I was watching the movie "Deep Impact" (A fantastic sci-fi movie for all you spaceartists out there... you will really appreciate the work into the graphics actually achieved here. Go rent it), and I saw the space shuttle in it, so I got some reference photographs off the internet, and started painting with the wacom. Textures, FTW. So I painted the shuttle, and the title fell in my mind. Then I realized REACH FOR THE STARS. Brilliantly MIND NUMBING. Fabulous. Then, because I am on my craptop, still a nice laptop, but not for huge PSD files, I had to merge like 30 layers because the filesize was getting too big.
I understand that this, like every picture not created by `alyn, has its flaws. I am aware of them. I have attempted to fix them. Please, critique discouraged. I will not change this image. I would, however, love to hear your comments on this picture though. No critique. Comments yay. Critique nay.
Stats:
Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Terragen
Layers: about 150, not including layers for the Terragen render.
Time Taken: 2 weeks, on or off. You'll have to ask Crazy Monkey about the Terragen render time
Stock photographs/reference photographs: [link], and the cloud reference photos were from my own camera
Anyways, I hope you like it! Comments and favorites are appreciated, but no critique as said.
FULL VIEW MAKES ME VERY HAPPY
please full view or you will miss all the details.
Enjoy,
